• MSU's College of Human Medicine actively supports clinical investigation. Learn about current research faculty and medical school supports through the Office of Research for Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.
• Residents may also contact Clare Luz, PhD, who is the Research Director for the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine (Lansing campus). Dr. Luz is available to help with project reviews, case report reviews, IRB issues, etc. Contact her by email at clare.luz@ht.msu.edu or at 432-2208.
• The Office of the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies is a comprehensive website with numerous resources for MSU research scientists.
• This manual is a comprehensive Human Research Protection (HRP) Manual that includes policies and procedures for UCRIHS and CRIRB. The manual provides unified, detailed information in an easily accessible format for the MSU community.

• The Resources for New Investigators website at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) addresses the needs of young investigators applying for funding from the NIH for the first time. While NIH funding is not usually obtained by residents, the site has a wealth of information regarding grant-funded clinical investigation.

• Anwar et al., BMJ (2003), 327:153-154 provides a guideline for writing case reports. This paper may be accessed through MSU online library resource.

• The presentation of "Developing A Research Project During Residency," M. Hassan Pervaiz, MD, provides tips for clinical investigation projects.

• The article "The Art of Oral Presentations" provides tips on giving a successful presentation.

• The Michigan State University Institutional Review Board is known as the University Committee on Research Involving Human Subjects (UCHRIS), and has an informative website located at: http://www.humanresearch.msu.edu/.
• The Sparrow Health System Institutional Review Board is known as the Institutional Research Review Committee (IRRC) and has a website located at: http://sparrow.org/irrc/research.asp.
• Of note, Sparrow Hospital and MSU have entered a mutual Reliance Agreement such that IRB approval at one institution will be honored by the other. For more information, see:
