Learning and Assessment Center

Residents practice skills in lumbar puncture, arterial line insertion, central line insertion, as well as demonstrated their skills with sterile technique, and with providing informed consent to a standardized patient.
The new Learning and Assessment Center at Michigan State University is a result of the collaborative vision of the Colleges of Human Medicine, Nursing, Osteopathic Medicine and Veterinary Medicine at MSU. Students experience realistic clinical scenarios that train and test their communication, problem solving, and data collection skills.
Assessment gives students important feedback during their learning phase and provides the necessary demonstration and accountability required of today's health professions schools.
The Center is located in East Fee Hall on the campus of Michigan State University. As part of MSU’s health learning complex, it provides a state-of-the-art setting for health professionals to learn, practice, and ultimately demonstrate patient care competence.
